While taking into account the expectations of those for whom the car is indispensable, elected officials are seeking to bring down pollution thresholds – starting with greenhouse gases – which means a reduction in fuel consumption.

Not being able to completely ban vehicles from towns, they are constrained to rethinking urban planning and envisaging measures that will encourage some motorists to change their means of transport and others to choose “clean cars”. This is the principle adopted by numerous cities such as London, Milan, Berlin and Paris. But what exactly is a clean car?
