This figure could have been even higher if there hadn’t been a recession… Still, France coped well, with sales decreasing by “only” 4.5% in 2009.
It’s worth noting the boom in the power-assisted bicycles market, with a 50%-increase in the same year. The bicycle certainly appears to have great significance as the favoured means of transport of the 21st century..
