
Technology, communication, societal issues, community-based practices … So many subjects were addressed during the latest edition of LeWeb. A dozen conferences took place, with involvement from such prestigious speakers as Mike Jones (MySpace), David Barroux (Les Echos), Bertrand Piccard (Solar Impulse), and even Carlos Gosn (Renault-Nissan)…
At the end of the second day, the “Start Up Competition” closed, with four prizes being awarded to innovative online companies.
Among the winners, we really liked two innovative sustainable mobility applications. The prize for Technology was won by Waze (Israel), for its user-generated navigational software.
There was also the “Special Audience Award”, given to DEways, a peer-to-peer car sharing community developed by two ESSEC* students.

TheGreenCarWebsite: This account is affiliated to a British website and gathers all the news about “green cars”. Biofuels, electricity… it talks about the different mobility options provided by renewable energy.
Solar Dude1: A very prolific American Tweeter with a large following, as indicated by his name, he is interested above all in how solar energy and its various uses are making progress.
Greenenergy4car: Ron Robinson is particularly interested in a clean future for the car. With more than 1,600 followers, he is an integral part of the sustainable mobility webscape.
Ecowizz: Not as many followers but a fair amount of tweets! These are related to sustainable development in general, acknowledging initiatives and green actions that contribute to protecting the planet every day.
